Focus Areas
As the voice of the business community, the Hudson Chamber promotes economic growth and development and advocates for the business community. Our three priority issues are:
Transportation
Transportation is a top issue we hear among businesses, commuters, and residents alike. For the business community, we need to ensure the free flow of commerce and easy access for commuters to support our workforce and promote sustainable economic growth. Additionally, we recognize the need to balance quality of life issues.
Tourism & Placemaking
Hudson County, NJ, is a great place to live, work, stay, eat, shop, and enjoy. Our goal is to share this message with visitors and residents alike who have so many choices living in our dynamic and exciting communities. We are committed to creating economic value for our hospitality and retail sectors, keeping dollars local, creating visibility by spotlighting our members and communities, and showcasing our many attractions and activities.
Business Growth & Affordability
Business Growth and Affordability is a central concern for business owners and professionals of all sizes and from all sectors and segments of our membership. We advocate on behalf of our members to amplify their concerns on issues such as tax burdens, regulations, and economic incentives. Higher costs for businesses can lead to higher costs for consumers and increase the cost of living. Our goal is to influence public policy and find better public solutions that give rise to improved economic conditions.
Workforce Development
Employers of all sizes and sectors struggle with identifying appropriately skilled workers to help their organizations succeed, from mom-and-pop restaurants and retailers to multinational corporations. We are committed to connecting the workforce with our member employers for the health of the business community and to upskilling our residents to qualify them for good local jobs.
